Give your energy journalism career a kickstart this year in Moldova! Apply for the Energy Community Summer School 2024 today!

As part of the prestigious Energy Community Summer School program, FES SOE is offering specialized energy journalism and energy communication training for the fourth year in a row! Within our mission to advance a socio-ecological transformation in Southeast Europe, we are dedicated to a comprehensive approach to energy transition. Energy Community Summer School is a program initiated by the Energy Community Secretariat in 2015 to promote the development of participants' competencies in energy-related topics. Summer School has a dedicated, multi-disciplinary program that provides a platform to exchange and contribute to shaping the future of all energy sectors. It targets highly motivated postgraduate students (masters or Ph.D.), researchers from all energy-related disciplines, and young professionals. Participants of the Energy Journalism program are considered a part of the Summer School 2024 cohort and have access to the program of the Summer School.

We invite all interested journalists from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Turkey to apply for the fourth generation of Energy Summer School 2024 - Energy Journalism Program, which will take place in Chisinau, Moldova, from 19th to 28th of July 2024.

Experience in energy journalism is not a must, but we do count on avid interest in the topics that energy journalism covers and willingness to learn more. Freenlancer, editors in print, radio, TV and online platforms are welcome to apply. Working knowledge of English, listening and speaking in particular, is expected. Please note that given the duration of the entire Summer School program, we leave it at our discretion to modify the length of participation for journalists participating in the Energy Journalism Program, and the length of the stay for selected participants will not necessarily overlap in full with the general program of the Summer School. Apart from the lectures given to all Summer School participants, the energy journalism training within this year's program will cover a full-day specialized training for the selected journalists. All accommodation and travel costs will be covered for participants selected through this open call.

To apply, please submit the following:
