First Labor and Employment Forum 2025: Dialogue and Partnership for the Future of Work in Bosnia and Herzegovina

How can we build a labor market that meets the real needs of people and the economy, while also responding to the demands of the digital age? How can migration become a development opportunity rather than an obstacle? What awaits us in a world of work that is changing faster than ever before? Will our jobs, skills, and opportunities be able to keep pace with digital transformation and migration flows?

These and other questions will be addressed at the first Labor and Employment Forum titled “Dialogue and Partnership for the Future,” to be held on November 11–12 at Hotel Vučko on Jahorina.

The Forum is organized by the Agency for Labor and Employment of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with support from the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES). The event will bring together representatives of institutions at all levels of government, public employment services, trade unions, employers, academia, and international partners.

Over the two days, participants will discuss key topics shaping the world of work today and in the future:

  • Labor market in transition – challenges, opportunities, and the need for social dialogue;
  • Skills of the future and digital services – preparing workers and institutions for the new world of work;
  • Migration and workforce mobility – how the diaspora and returnees can become a driver of development;
  • Looking ahead: Bosnia and Herzegovina’s labor market by 2030 – a shared vision and recommendations for the future.

The Forum aims to become a permanent annual platform for strategic dialogue on the labor market, alignment with European policies, and modernization of public employment services. The focus will be on creating a resilient, inclusive, and digital labor market that recognizes people as the key resource for development.

Members of the media are welcome to attend the opening of the Forum on November 11, 2025, from 10:30 to 12:00.
