The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Dialogue Southeast Europe (FES SOE) office is based in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Established in 2015, we are committed to the advancement of social democratic values in southeastern Europe. Our work is concentrated on three broad tracks: the promotion of social democratic politics and values, including a commitment to social and economic justice, and progressive approaches to peace and stability policy. In cooperation with our regional offices and partners, we work to strengthen the democratic consolidation, economic revitalization, and ongoing peace processes of southeastern Europe as a whole.
The FES SOE is committed to advancing social democratic policies and values in southeastern Europe.
Foundation to the work of Dialogue SOE, and in keeping with our social democratic values, is the belief that substantive democratic governance practices are rooted in fair and equitable economic arrangements.
Peace and stability initiatives represent a decades-long cornerstone of FES work in southeastern Europe. Recent events have only reaffirmed the centrality of southeast European stability within the broader continental security paradigm.
The FES Dialogue Southeast Europe aims to address social challenges in climate and energy policy in the region.
