Open Call for Offers: Podcast Production

Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Dialogue Southeast Europe  and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Prishtina, invite skilled multimedia professionals to apply and work with us to produce the podcast EcoEcho. This podcast continues our work on socio-ecological transformation in Southeast Europe and inclusive energy transition. After running several episodes in Kosovo under the same title, we seek to expand the -series  and if suitable, covering wider Southeast Europe constructively and holistically. We invite experienced individuals or teams to submit their offers for consideration.

The podcast will be produced as audio-only, and we aim to stream it not only digitally but also through radio to make it accessible to a wide audience; therefore, we give preference to offers that indicate the possibility of radio hosting for the podcast episodes that will be produced.

With these episodes, we wish to:

  • Create engaging and informative content that reflects the vision of inclusive energy transition and socio-ecological transformation
  • Increase awareness and engagement within the SEE communities and beyond
  • Provide a platform for voices and stories in the region, with experiences and expertise that the communities can relate to

From our producer(s), we expect:

  • Production of 3 to 4 episodes, a minimum of 40 minutes in length per episode, but no longer than 60 minutes, with approximately one episode per month from September 2024
  • Production of episodes in -a local language except when the topic has a wider regional context in which case, production will be in English language
  • Hosting the podcast episodes across a variety of digital platforms and radio
  • High-quality audio production and editing
  • Producing promotional materials for each episode in the form of short videos or episode outtakes
  • Assistance with distribution and promotion strategies
  • Experience in journalism and energy journalism is not mandatory but is preferable

Within your proposal, please include:

  • Your CV or team portfolio
  • Examples of previous relevant work
  • Technical proposal outlining your approach to producing the episodes, including methods, platforms, and processes
  • Financial proposal including all costs related to the production of the podcast episodes

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • Relevant experience and portfolio quality
  • Creativity and technical approach
  • understanding of the topic and our objectives outlined in the technical proposal of your offer
  • Cost-effectiveness of the financial proposal
  • Ability to meet deadlines and project requirements

Call for Applications: Youth Study SEE 2023/2024

Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Dialogue Southeast Europe is starting the new round of regional youth studies in 2023. The Youth Studies are a comprehensive, flagship project of the Foundation and we plan to cover 12 countries of Southeast Europe with the new regional report. The FES SOE has already published regional youth studies in 2015 and 2018/2019.

 

For the purpose of authoring the regional Youth Study 2023/2024, FES SOE invites all interested agencies and academic workers/researchers to apply to the Open Call for Authors. Please note that the research portion of the study is commissioned separately, and that FES SOE fully covers the survey (approximately 125 questions) for the youth in the region. The survey is almost finalized and will be conducted on a representative sample of youth in 12 countries of the region. The authors will receive data based on which they will author the study. The study covers the following topics:

  • A. Values, religion, and trust;
  • B. Family and friends;
  • C. Mobility
  • E. Education
  • F. Employment
  • G. Politics.
  • I. Demographic data.
  • J. Addendum: Confidential Questions

 

Detailed information on the responsibilities of the authors, as well as mutual obligations are defined in the Terms of Reference of this Open Call (download here). Please note that interested applicants are expected to comply with the project timeline that is integral to the Terms of Reference. All interested applicants are encouraged to send their offers, following the Terms of Reference and to include as many details as you see relevant for your proposal.

 

Please send in your application no later than Thursday, August 4th, 2023 until 17:00 to info(at)fes-soe.org and sasa.vasic(at)fes-soe.org.

 

The application should contain:

  • Offer for authoring the study per ToR in English, without translation to Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian languages;
  • Offer for authoring the study per ToR in English, with translation to Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian languages;
  • Information whether the quota you list includes VAT.

 

The criteria for evaluation of the offers is as follows:

  • 40% price
  • 40% experience in working on similar projects (please indicate relevant references in your application)
  • 20% availability to adapt to the project timeline as listed in documents available above
