Through films, discussions and socializing during the 31st Sarajevo Film Festival, young people from all over the Western Balkans will be able to participate in the Dealing with the Past program.
The Sarajevo Film Festival is inviting all young people from the Western Balkans to apply for the program "Western Balkans Youth Team: In Youth Eyes". This program, implemented in cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, will enable young people to participate in the 31st Sarajevo Film Festival and its program Dealing with the Past, and through films, discussions and socializing in Sarajevo, promote intercultural dialogue, youth cooperation and peacebuilding.
Young people aged 18 to 25 living in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia or Serbia can apply for participation in the program. Candidates should be motivated to actively participate in the entire project, ready for teamwork, writing articles for the DwP website and creating content for social networks. They should also be available to participate in the program from 15 to 22 August 2025.
Candidates should also be inspired to participate in accordance with the agreed program of the Sarajevo Film Festival and are required to write an article about their experience after returning to their local communities.

The program "Western Balkans Youth Team: Through the Eyes of Youth" has been traditionally organized during the Sarajevo Film Festival since 2019. In its six years, the program has hosted almost 300 young people from all parts of the Western Balkans, thus creating a platform in which film, as a medium accessible to all, creates the basis for a better region and an intercultural community.
