The Democratic Left in SEE Launched
The Democratic Left is an open process of networking, coordination and position-building between activists from southeast Europe. It is a platform based on the belief that more open, participatory and bottom-up policy processes are the future of democracy.
Over the course of the past two years, activists from all over the region came together and formulated what would become the #DemLeftSEE, building positions based on struggles going on in the streets of southeast Europe and giving actionable policy proposals and entering dialogue with established leftist political actors.
This entire process culminated in an open-source website that serves as a tool for the #DemLeftSEE to raise awareness that there is an ambition from the streets going towards truly just, prosperous, democratic, equal and green societies in Southeast Europe, and that there is knowledge produced in that sense, which is open to use for everyone.
The #DemLeftSEE Positions are a summary of all the work activists have put in over the last two years and are a summary of all the discussions, to be used as guidelines for any genuinely progressive and Left regional movement today.
